I am an experienced project and people manager working in Signature Events at the leading international type one diabetes nonprofit. Currently, I work on event planning, experiential marketing, relationship building, sponsorship, fundraising, and donor stewardship. Previously, I worked in children's publishing where I honed my copywriting and copyediting skills, managed a list of clients, and worked creatively. I also volunteer as Director of Development for National Kitten College. Events worked on include B2B and B2C conferences, black-tie galas, 3,000+ person creative industry events, virtual touchpoints, intimate cocktail hours, and more.
I began my professional career working in children's publishing. I interned at two of the Big Five publishing houses, Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster, working in Publicity, Managing Editorial, and Editorial. I went on to work full-time at HMH which was later bought by another one of the Big 5, HarperCollins, where I worked for almost five years and was promoted internally. I achieved New York Times bestsellers, grew a network of clients and agents, and honed my editorial acumen, copywriting, and copyediting skills.
In 2022, I utilized my sales expertise from working in publishing as well as my event planning skills from acting as the Co-Chair of the Engagement Committee and attending NYCC as a Pro through my work at The Astoria Bookshop to make the switch into fundraising and event planning full time.
At Breakthrough T1D, I ideate, plan, and execute large-scale leading industry events that change the way donors interact with Breakthrough T1D. I continuously analyze our strategy and activations with the end goal of making our events more engaging and interactive for our audience and ultimately, increasing revenue and attendance. I have achieved record breaking events at Breakthrough T1D such as the 2023 Annual Real Estate Games, continuously exceeded goal, increased revenue, and boosted attendance, and regularly work to introduce new event programing.
In 2024, I joined National Kitten College, a startup animal welfare nonprofit. As part of a small team, I wear many hats. In a short time, I have created and launched our website, developed business strategy, exhibited at national expos alongside our corporate partners, and lectured at conferences/shelters. My impact at NKC is substantial and cross-industry.
